Schedule
Join the friendly folks of the Bay Area Orienteering Club for some fun summer training adventures near and far! At these sessions we offer map adventure courses for the beginners and the experienced. Enjoy a good social time eating and drinking afterwards!
There are more BAOC summer events – the official ones – on the BAOC schedule. Some to be added soon.
What to bring? Workout clothes and running shoes should usually work fine, check the training event pages below to see if more gear is needed. Also, there might be a small fee to cover costs. And watch out for park entrance fees that are noted as well.
Thinking of coming? Add a fun comment to any of the event pages, please!

Hello!
I met a couple of BAOC members doing trail work last weekend. I was inspired to find out more about the club. If time allows I would like to come to your “Summer Training Fun” event either in San Jose or at De Anza (or both).
I did a small amount of Orienteering in the UK when I was a kid. But nothing in the last 20+ years. Is it okay to show up at these events?
Thanks in advance,
Clive

Yes, Clive, it’s fine to just show up. BAOC members are happy to welcome newcomers! There won’t be any officially scheduled assistance for beginners at these evening fun events (beginners clinics ARE always available at our regular events) but just ask anyone and I’m sure they’ll be willing to give you enough info to get started.

Fantastic. I will endeavor to get there. charging around SJC or De Anza sounds like a fun wat to spend a few hours. Especially if it’s followed by “fluid replacement” (beer). Thanks! Clive
